Would you like to learn more about why Agile Leadership Sprints and OKRs are the best way to successfully implement a strategy?
Many strategies are not implemented successfully because there is a separation between development and implementation. Holistic strategy consulting focuses both on the development of ideas and effective methods of implementing those ideas. To be successful in implementing a strategy, leaders must be able to understand the strategy, but also have the tools and knowledge to be able to implement said strategy into the everyday culture of the organisation. At MLI we focus on both development and implementation to ensure good ideas do not stay in the board room. This approach is called ‘Strategy Activation’ – It’s an all-encompassing, approach to strategy development and its agile implementation within an organisation.
If the key people required for the implementation of a strategy are not involved in the consultation, then it may fail. Without the correct key personnel, strategies can be too abstract or generic and may lack focus. According to a representative survey of more than 250 managers, strategy implantation fails primary for the following reasons: Lack of practical relevance/ excessive complexity (72%) Communication issues (63%) Conflicts of interest (38%) Role uncertainty (30%) .
In an increasingly dynamic economic world, strategic hypotheses must be tested quickly and continuously adjusted. Strategy activation focuses on confidently dealing with complexity and systemic success factors in an organisation. It uses neuroscientific findings to achieve maximum understanding among all those involved, to clarify situational roles and to master complexity in an iterative and result-oriented manner. In this way, strategic projects can be brought to success measurably faster and more often.
Developing a corporate strategy requires a thorough analysis of the company's goals, market conditions and the competitive situation. It is important to recognise and take into account the specific culture and potential of a company. Involve the key people you need for successful strategy implementation in strategy development right from the start. Determine strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as objectively as possible as part of a SWOT analysis. Define clear goals and strategies to achieve these goals. Ensure the strategy is flexible enough to adapt to changing market conditions and communicate it effectively across the organisation.
External leadership and strategy consulting is particularly useful if your company is facing major challenges, such as strong competition, a decline in sales or changes in the market environment. When internal resources and expertise are limited or an objective, external perspective is needed, experienced leadership and strategy consulting can provide valuable insight. It is important to carefully consider the right time to achieve the best results.
The costs of strategy consulting vary greatly depending on the scope and complexity of the project as well as the reputation of the consulting firm. At the MLI Leadership Institute, you usually agree on a flat-rate project fee that is based on clearly defined work results. To choose the right consulting partner, it is important to see reference projects, check experiences and areas of expertise and consider the chemistry between your team and the consultants. Make sure the firm you choose understands the specific needs of your business and has the necessary expertise.
